Located on the rugged Isle of Skye, Torabhaig Distillery is the first distillery to be opened on the island for 190 years. Set-up in a once abandoned farmhouse, Torabhaig began whisky production in January 2017 and this is their debut release of single malt whisky. After distillation in 2017, this spirit was matured in Ex-Bourbon casks and is bottled at 46%abv. Flavour wise the team at Torabhaig set out to come up with a distinctive house-style of whisky, which along with utilising traditional production methods takes inspiration from the rugged landscape of Skye. They also add a hefty dose of peat to create a dram packed full of dark smoke and maritime notes.
