Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA and the PGA of America are pleased to announce Mouton Cadet as the official wine for the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. This collaboration unites the legendary Mouton Cadet, founded in 1930 just three years after the first Ryder Cup was played, with the most prestigious team event in golf. The biennial Ryder Cup features 12 of America’s finest professional golfers against 12 of their counterparts from Europe in a match-play, team competition.
Behind the label is a delicious Bordeaux wine of Merlot (76%), Cabernet Sauvignon (11%), Cabernet Franc (11%), and Malbec (2%).The fruit comes from partner wine growers in the main appellations of Bordeaux and the Côtes (Blaye, Bourg, Castillon). Wine is matured in traditional manner and lightly oaked before blending and bottling.
